Horsens has a character that's hard to find elsewhere in Jutland. A medieval market square anchored by Vor Frelsers Kirke with its onion-dome spire, a heavily redeveloped industrial harbour where pale-brick apartments now front the water alongside surviving silos, and woodland and fjord parkland just a few minutes from the centre. It's a mix of raw industrial texture and historic brick rather than a polished old-town look.

I travel to Horsens for weddings, couples shoots and family sessions across the area. Boller Slot, a Renaissance manor with a moat and fjord-side park, sits about 3 km southeast of town. Comwell Bygholm Park offers manor interiors and parkland on the western edge. For something genuinely unusual, Fængslet, the former state prison turned culture venue, gives heavy walls and cell corridors as a backdrop unlike any other in the region. Outdoors, Bygholm Park and the woodland path along Planetstien towards Boller both work year round.
