Wedding Photographer in Herning

Herning is unlike any other city I shoot in. There's no medieval core here - instead the eastern edge of town is home to Birk Centerpark, a deliberate fusion of modernist architecture, large-scale outdoor sculpture, and open heath landscape. Clean white buildings, geometric forms, and C.Th. Sørensen's labyrinth of tall hornbeam hedges shaped into circles and polygons give a graphic, contemporary backdrop that works precisely because it looks nothing like a traditional Danish town.

For civil ceremonies, Herningsholm Museum holds Saturday wedding ceremonies in the Riddersalen from April through September. Skarrildhus, an old manor in a riverside park on the heath about 20 km southwest, is the stronger option for couples wanting garden ceremonies and overnight accommodation in one place, and its riverside park also suits a family shoot. Outdoors, the Skulpturparken in Birk and the Geometric Gardens give two very different open-air settings within walking distance of each other, with the Geometric Gardens' clean lines making a striking backdrop for photoshoot.
