Photography Around Haderslev Fjord

Haderslev has one of Denmark's best-preserved medieval old towns. Cobbled lanes of two-storey gabled houses, half-timbered Renaissance buildings from the 1500s and 1600s, climbing a hill toward the Gothic brick cathedral that's visible from most of the centre. The texture is brick, timber framing, and rough cobblestone rather than polished facades, and the town earned a Europa Nostra restoration award for keeping it that way.

Wedding coverage in Haderslev usually centres on Haderslev Domkirke, the oldest Gothic hall-church of its kind in Denmark, which anchors the old town with its tall, light-filled interior. Lindholm Herregård sits just south of town in parkland, and Gram Slot, a moated castle with a baroque park and lake, is about 25 km west, its grounds giving couples a quieter, more private setting than the town centre. For outdoor shoots, the Slotsgade quarter and the lanes around Torvet give the strongest old-town backdrop, while Haderslev Dam and Damparken open into water and parkland on the town's green edge, with the parkland well suited to family shoots that need open space.

Haderslev is 30 minutes south of my base in Kolding - I cover Christiansfeld and Fredericia as part of the same corridor. Get in touch and tell me what you have in mind.
